Glauco Venier made his debut as a musician in classical and rock music. After graduating from the conservatory he studied in America and began his intense artistic career. He has collaborated with some of the most important exponents of world jazz. Countless his appearances at concerts on stages all over the world. Together with Norma Winstone and Klaus Gesing he recorded three CDs for the ECM label and won a Grammy Award nomination. With the historic trio he has performed in the most prestigious theatres such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Barbican in London, the Olympia in Paris, the Fenice in Venice and at the most important festivals such as the London Jazz Festival. It's coming out his last album in piano only for ECM recorded in December 2013 at the studios of Radio Television of Italian Switzerland in Lugano. He has to his credit about twenty records to his name and numerous participations in recordings with different artists. He has recorded for the labels Universal and Schott as well as Rai, Orf and BBC. With the symphony orchestra and the big band of the German Radio/Tv WDR he recorded in Cologne his project "Antiche danze" inspired by music from the cultured folk tradition of Friuli, his region, with arrangements by Michael Abene and Michele Corcella. The project, filmed and revisited under the name SYMPHONIKA, was released as a CD and DVD in February 2014, and opened the Mittelfest in 2012. He taught at the Institute of Music City of Gorizia. Today he teaches at the Conservatory of Udine.
