MECHANICAL ASCENT TO THE CASTLE? UDINE MAKES TWO OF THEM
While in Gorizia there are protests for the realization of the mechanical ascent to the castle, the centre of every nequizia for those who would like to be hypnotized on a clock stopped in April 1945, or even better on May 24, 1918, Udine proceeds and even doubles. Two elevators to climb to the castle: one also from Piazza Primo Maggio from the library at the entrance of the Hill. This was announced by the Mayor Pietro Fontanini at a crowded press conference. Udine, therefore, relaunches its image and its structures in terms of tourism certainly, but also in terms of functionality, facilitating - as the first citizen of the Friulian capital recalled - the mobility of the elderly and the disabled.
We are comforted by the recent words of the mayor of Gorizia Ziberna about the ascent to the hill of the castle of Gorizia, a project started by the first Valenti council, with the financial support of the Region and with the convincing support of the then councillor for finance Ettore Romoli, we hope for a rapid realization of the work that will bring added value to our city by directly connecting the architecturally most beautiful places of Gorizia, Piazza Vittoria and Borgo Castello. An old dream that dates back to the great Max Fabiani.
