The third edition of the Mare Nostrum Sea Culture Festival, which will take place in Grado, will be held in the historic centre of the island on 4, 5 and 6 October. The theme of the event is the Knowledge and Flavours of the Graisian tradition, which will be exhibited and represented by about forty operators in the squares and streets of the historic centre of the "Island of the Sun", is an important space of showcase, market and market, dedicated to local companies in the sea and food sector of the territories adjacent to the famous seaside resort (the "Mar Grando" of Biagio Marin).

A full immersion in the Grado of yesteryear, a real plunge into the past with actors and artists who will make visitors relive the life and crafts of the past. Fishermen, craftsmen and sailors will tell young and old (with the novelty of Mare Nostrum Kids) the secrets of the sea and will meet the fantastic characters of the myths and legends of Grado, taken from oral tradition. The intent - reads a statement - is to give back to the participants of the Festival, an image of the past, of a market where the products of the Friulian hinterland were exchanged with the products of the sea of Grado. In ancient times, the fruits of fishing were traded for wine, flour, agricultural products and crafts. Historical re-enactments, dance, theatre, events, therefore, will be a corollary to this weekend impossible to miss in which to find, find yourself and enjoy a great itinerary through the streets of the old town dedicated to the flavours of typical cuisine, the Boreto, unmistakable dish of Grado and wines of Friuli: more than 40 exhibitors, restaurants and taverns participating in the initiative will offer a dish selected among the many recipes of the tradition "This is the manifestation of a Grado that has lived and lives - added the mayor, Dario Raugna -. And this is achieved thanks to the collaboration between all the Associations that make Grado rich of its diversity among the many tourist resorts of the Adriatic Sea with an event that doubles, as several presences, year after year and that also wants to leave its mark. It is no coincidence that on Saturday 5th, at noon, on the Nazario Sauro Dam, a toponymy space will be dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini, a great friend of Grado and its intellectuals". 13 tasting islands will give life to the "Grado Island of Flavours" itinerary; a real treasure hunt through the streets of the castrum in search of the culinary heritage of authentic Grado cuisine.

Moreover, the Biagio Marin square will be entirely dedicated to children with animations, games and workshops. Not to be missed, finally, the Cantina della Riviera (in Campo Patriarca Elia), guided tours, performances of traditional dancers, theatrical performances and culinary meetings, at the Mandracchio port, coordinated by Fabrizio Nonis (with star chefs Andy Luotto, Natale Giunta and Gianfranco Pascucci), which will characterize this third edition of the Festival.
