TREASURE OF GRADO: A MUSEUM IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CURIA, SOMETHING NOT POSSIBLE IN GORIZIA
After much insistence and tenacity, contacts of every kind, the Treasury of Grado, as precious as the Treasury of Aquileia and Gorizia (with outbuildings and connections) is probably about to find a dignified seat, which allows it to be exposed even outside the canonical places or during religious rites. The mayor of Grado Raugna, as explained today in an article signed by Antonio Boemo in Il Piccolo, has scheduled a direct meeting with the Archbishop's representatives for November 5. The planned museum is certainly what the wonderful island of Grado deserves, which was the gateway to Aquileia and the refuge of the people of Aquileia after the destruction of Attila: the island treasury owned by the Curia would certainly mark a great qualitative difference. Recovering one's history is what it takes to enhance a city by making thousands of years of history become a "bonus", even an economic one why not, for the citizens, who are heirs of those millennia. To this news the people of Gorizia should get angry if they are still capable of it: since the Treasury of Aquileia, for which in Gorizia was even built a Museum, restoring to the sound of millions of euros the complex of Santa Chiara in Corso Verdi, has lost track among the offices of the various institutions in Gorizia that had been supporters of that realization, like the Municipality, the former Province, the Carigo Foundation and above all the Curia which had had Archbishop Father Bommarco among the promoters of the initiative, which would have allowed Gorizia to have an attractive cultural and artistic pole in every season. We talked about this topic during a series of meetings organized in Sala Dora Bassi: we hosted with pleasure simple citizens but also authorities, who are therefore aware of the topic: wouldn't it be time to take action?
